A 19-year-old woman who allegedly hit a pedestrian on the road to El Cajo and then crashed into a car parked on the street has pleaded not guilty to two counts of killing a vehicle and running over on Monday. ,
Reeta Haythim Mansour from El Cajon is accused of hitting 25-year-old Rudy Shatata while driving at least twice on Anza Street on the night of March 12, according to El Cajon police lieutenant Ason Eason Taub.
Taub said officers initially responded to a report of a car being parked before 10 a.m. and found Shata lying in the yard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the lieutenant, further investigation revealed that Shatata was crossing Anza Street to reach his parked car when he was hit by four 2020 Infinity doors, which threw him about 180 feet.
Infinity continued to drive until it collided with a parked car. The driver then stayed in the area and cooperated with the police, Taub said.
According to investigators, alcohol and drugs were not the cause of the accident.
Mansour is not in jail yet, but the court is due to return on October 19 for a readiness conference.
