Three former Orange County High School boys have been selected for the U.S. Olympic team heading to Tokyo.
The players recently announced by the US Pol’s ball are goalkeeper Alex Wolf (Huntington Beach High) և sharp shooter, right-hander Hannes Dauben (Orange Lutheran) և Luca Cupido (Newport Harbor).
The 6-foot 7 wolf was The Register’s 2014 Player of the Year և helped signal the rise of the oil industry as a powerhouse. He stood out at UCLA.
6-year-old 4-year-old Cupid, a two-time Olympian, moved from his native Italy to Newport Harbor in the fall of 2013 to play as a captain. He was the first team on the All-County list to be named after Mater Dei goalkeeper McQueen Baron, who became his Olympic teammate in 2016.
Cupid is one of five returning Olympians in a 13-man squad.
The 6-foot 4 Daube joins the Wolf as a first-class Olympic. The regional base recently scored 15 goals to help the United States win silver in the FINA World League Super Final.
