The Christmas season officially kicked off in Santi on Friday night.
Thousands flocked to the celebration of the holiday lighting, a tradition that returned after a pause last year due to an epidemic.
The festive lighting celebration at Sant Trolley Square brought bigger characters, a real Christmas scene և live music.
Not to mention the festive crowds that are re-emerging in the Sant tradition. Kathleen Stevenson wore green, red, and Christmas-themed dresses.
“People are friendly. They are happy. “It’s good that people are coming out,” Stevenson said. “When we first moved here. We are from Arizona, we left, Ehhhh. And then now we have to go to it. That’s something we want to do. We could not wait. “
Everything was a little sweeter this year after a plane crash in October shocked the community, և the epidemic forced the event to be canceled completely last year.
“To see people smiling, just to feel the joy of knowing that Christmas is here at all. “Come on, we’s going to be with family և friends,” said Santi resident Jessica Clark.
Lily Hildebrand և her father are part of the Rise Church, which provided a snow slope for sledding.
“It is wonderful to see everyone outside again. I did not see anyone because of COVID. “And now everyone is here. It’s fun,” Hildebrand said.
Familiar faces for many.
“I love how it unites everyone. It was COVID, and now who is COVID? ” said Kylie Miller-Hale, who wore a Christmas tree dress while attending the event.
Michelle Partridge, a 20-year-old resident of Santi, was present at the event with a group of friends, including one celebrating her birthday.
“We love Santi, we come here every year,” said Partridge.
It’s a community that goes back to the holidays over time.
