North Sheriff Station detectives want your help in finding a suspect involved in a robbery along Moonlight Beach in Encinitas.

It happened on Tuesday, October 26, shortly before 21:00, V. Near 400 block B street. The victim told detectives that he was on the beach near the volleyball court when a man approached him. The suspect held a gun in his hand, aimed it at the victim’s head, demanding his belongings. Fearing for his life, the victim threw his headphones and cell phone on the ground.
The suspect grabbed the headphones and said he would kill himself if he turned to law enforcement. Then he ran north along 5th Street. The victim was not injured.

Sheriff ASTREA helicopter was flying over the area, looking for the suspect, while the deputies were looking for Sheriff K-9 on the ground. Despite these efforts, the suspect was not found.
The suspect is described as a 25-year-old Hispanic man who is 5.7 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hat, a ski mask, a dark T-shirt, jeans and white shoes.
