Altamont-Michael L. Fadis, 79, died peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2021, with his loving family by his side, after a courageous fight against cancer. never lose hope.
Mike was born in Annapolis, MD, the son of the late James Maurice Fadis և Violet Tucker Fadis. In addition to his parents, Michael died and his son Steven and brother Jerry died. He is survived by his 32-year-old loving wife, Kathleen (Wilmot), երեխան his children, Christopher (Gina), Brian, Lorraine (Joseph) և Amy. He was the beloved grandfather of Claire (Patrick), Kylie, Catherine, Ryan (Morgan), Courtney և Aaron. He is survived by his brothers Sam (Gina) and Matthew (Lily), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Growing up in a military family, he attended many schools, especially in Ville, France. He graduated from El Capita High School in Santi, California. Mike liked to share his adventure story of how he hitchhiked from California to the East Coast when he learned of his admission to the University of Maryland, where he was part of a running team.
Mike began his professional career at Grand Union, working as a National Produce Buyer. This prompted him to open his own retail nursery և farm market. 16 years of joint product experience led to a sales position at United Apple Sales. He eventually became a partner at New York Apple Sales. Mike spent the next 25+ years helping the business grow into an industry leader.
After retiring 14 years ago, Mike and Kathy enjoyed their vacation home. Their time in Cooperstown, New York began 28 years ago. The family memories made in the “Lake” were one of their happiest times. Fishing, boating ավ hiking filled their days. They enjoyed the projects on the lake. Most recently, they enjoyed snowball life in Pons Inlet, Florida. Always looking for adventure, they traveled long distances, exploring from the Everglades to Key West, Okala Forest. Mike enjoyed boating on the St. John’s River, hunting alligators. He never missed an opportunity to intimidate one of his grandchildren with a very close Gator meeting.

The visit will take place on Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 12:00 to 15:00, New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. The memorial service will take place shortly after 3 p.m. The funeral will be held at Springfield Archelian Springfield Cemetery in New York City on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM. All current Covid protocols will be in place.
