CALIFORNIA – June is recognized as Golden Avocado Month in Golden State, but July 31 is: drum roll – National Avocado Day.
The California Avocado Commission is sharing its 2021 recipe to help you celebrate. The winner of the state competition «California Avocado & Shrimp Pizza,“From El Bajon Lieutenant Mary Beth.
For his victory, Poruchnik brought home a $ 1,000 grand prize, plus a $ 400 restaurant gift card, the California Avocado Prize Pack.

Avocado և Shrimp Pizza Ingredients.
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 to 2 chip pepper in adobo, spare adobo
- 2 ½ limestone
- 3/4 cup olive oil, divided
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon. sea salt
- 1/2 pound medium shrimp, peeled and shredded
- 2 tbsp. agave nectar
- 1 teaspoon chipot pepper pepper adobo
- Immediately before use, 2 ripe, fresh California avocados, seeds, peeled & thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. chopped cilantro, plus for extra garnish
- 1 pound crust of pizza or pizza dough (see recipe below)
- 1 cup Ricotta Pizza Sauce (see recipe below)
- 1/2 cup Quick Sour Onion և Jalapeños (see recipe below), dehydrated

Avocado ով Shrimp Pizza Instructions.
1. Preheat the oven and pizza stone to 425 degrees for at least 4 hours.
2. While the oven is preheating, add the garlic, chip pepper, 1 lime juice, ½ a glass of olive oil, sugar and salt in a food processor or blender եք mix the mixture.
3. After combining, put this marinade ինը shrimp in a bag և marinate for about 30 minutes or overnight.
4. Remove the shrimp from the marinade, grill on medium heat for about 4 minutes, turning halfway through until cooked through. Put aside.
In a small bowl, combine remaining olive oil, agave nectar, 1/2 lime juice, canned chip pepper pepper, and half of the cornea until combined. Put aside.
6. On a sheet of parchment paper, roll the pizza dough to the size of a pizza stone (approximately 16 inches). Pierce with a fork all the time.
7. Bake on the pizza stone for about 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove the crust from the oven և leave it in the fridge for about 5 minutes. If you do not have a pizza stone, bake on a baking sheet for 15 minutes.
8. After cooling, fill the crust with ricotta sauce, followed by sliced avocado (ventilating them), grilled shrimp, pickled onions, jalapeno pieces, and sprinkled with cilantro to cover the pizza.
9. To taste, lightly drizzle the mixture of canned agave և chipotle oil on the pizza.
10. Cut the remaining lime into wedges and serve with pizza slices.

Ricotta pizza sauce Ingredients:
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 piece of ground (if desired, remove the seeds for less heat)
- 1 tbsp. chopped cilantro
- 1/8 teaspoon. sea salt or to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon. pepper or to taste

Ricotta pizza sauce instructions.
1. Beat all the ingredients until combined, set aside.

Pizza dough ingredients.
- 2 ¼ cup unbleached, high gluten-free bread flour
- 3/4 teaspoon. salt
- 1/2 teaspoon. soluble yeast
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. ice cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon. corn flour for dusting

Pizza baking instructions.
1. Mix the flour, salt and yeast in a mixing bowl until combined.
2. Add oil, sugar and water և mix until it forms a ball.
3. Place the dough on a clean surface, knead for about 5 minutes or until the dough is smooth.
4. Roll the dough, flour it a little և put it on a jelly pan or baking sheet lined with lightly greased parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate overnight or for up to three days.
5. Remove the dough from the refrigerator two hours before use.

Quick Pickled Onion և Jalapeños Ingredients:
- 1 jalapeno, thinly sliced
- 1/4 large red onion, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon. sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon. kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon. pepper or to taste

Quick Pickled Onions և Jalapeños Instructions.

2. Heat the rice wine vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper in a saucepan over medium heat, until the sugar has dissolved, and pour over the onions for 3 minutes.
3. Cover և refrigerate for four hours or overnight.
* Large avocados are recommended for these recipes. Large avocados average about 8 ounces. If you use smaller or larger avocados, adjust the amount accordingly.
